WHAT TO EXPECT

We would love to have you join us for worship at Valley Chapel! Here are a few answers to some questions you might have….

When you arrive at Valley Chapel… We have ample parking at the rear of our campus. Our two main entrances are found on the left and right sides of the building, protected by spacious, covered entryways. At either of the entrances, you can expect to be greeted at the door by friendly people who are just like you! You will meet a wide variety of people from many ethnicities, ages, and backgrounds.

Let’s talk about what to wear…
It is never easy to visit a new church for the first time, so we want to be as helpful as we can to make your experience a good one. We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the time of worship than what you’re wearing. We won’t be worried about how you’re dressed, so we don’t want you to be either. Some people dress up and some choose to dress down. Come the way that you feel most comfortable.

What do you do in your services?
Our Sunday morning Celebration Worship is a time set aside for communicating with God from our hearts. We have live, upbeat worship with a full worship team and band, as well as intimate songs of worship. Everyone worships in their own unique way – for many, that means singing, clapping and raising their hands, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words. At Valley Chapel, you’re welcome to do what comes from the heart in praise to God. Part of the beauty of being Pentecostal is the freedom to respond to God just as the Holy Spirit directs you as an individual.

Will I be asked to give? Each week there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give. This is an act of worship for our regular attendees, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work he is doing in their lives. It also gives Valley Chapel the means to reach more people for Christ in the future.

You will hear a relevant message from God’s Word… In every service you will hear a relevant, straightforward message that is based on Scripture and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. Pastor Tim makes full use of multi-media, including PowerPoint, to make it easy for everyone to follow and understand God’s truths. These messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong Biblical foundation for your life.

Celebrating Communion… Our tradition is to celebrate communion once a month. Anyone can participate in this time of reflection and prayer – as long they’ve made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. The juice and bread that we share represent the life He gave up so that our sins could be forgiven.

What about children?
Children are an important part of our church at Valley Chapel. Our entire church, including children, worship together for the beginning of our Celebration Worship. The children are then dismissed to attend a special ministry designed just for them – “C.L.I.C.K.”

Will I be asked to do anything?
As a guest, you’ll have opportunity to communicate with us by text message or by filling out the Guest Information form, which can be placed it in the offering or dropped off at the Welcome Desk. This will allow us to connect with you and thank you for being our guest, and see if we can help you in any way!

Fellowship following…
Everyone is invited to a time of coffee and fellowship following our Sunday Celebration Worship. Hang out for a while and meet some of the other church folks and get to know Pastor Tim and ministry team a little better.

During the week… Pastor Tim sends out a daily devotional message called “Closer to Him” via email each and every morning at 7:00 am. It is also posted on Facebook and Instagram. On Fridays, an email “magazine” is sent out, called the “Weekly Encourager.” Click on those names to subscribe for free! And, don’t forget about our Wednesday night Prayer and Bible Study online! We begin at 7:30 on ZOOM, and mirror the livestream on Facebook at 7:45. Feel free to contact us if you need to.

Here at Valley Chapel, we truly believe that the Kingdom of God is a kingdom of right relationships. We want to positively affect Clifton and North Jersey through right relationships with God, with His people, and with the world around us.
